What can Replavia see and do on my Instagram account?
Last updated
Replavia asks Instagram for three permissions: basic profile, comments and messages. It never sees your password, cannot post to your feed and cannot see your followers list.
Open Accounts →The short answer
Replavia asks Instagram for three permissions and nothing more. You approve them on Instagram’s own page when you connect. Our Privacy Policy says we “only request the minimum permissions needed”.
Basic profile
- What Replavia uses it for
- Your username, name, profile picture, follower count and post count
Manage comments
- What Replavia uses it for
- Reading new comments, replying, and hiding one when you click
Manage messages
- What Replavia uses it for
- Reading DMs sent to you and sending your automated replies
| Permission | What Replavia uses it for |
|---|---|
| Basic profile | Your username, name, profile picture, follower count and post count |
| Manage comments | Reading new comments, replying, and hiding one when you click |
| Manage messages | Reading DMs sent to you and sending your automated replies |
Your password stays with Instagram
You connect with Instagram Login, run by Meta. You type your password on Instagram’s page, never on ours. Replavia never sees or stores it. See How to connect your Instagram account.
What Replavia can read
- New comments on your posts. Instagram sends them to Replavia, which checks each one against your automations.
- DMs people send you. Replavia checks them for your keywords, a STOP request, or a shared email or phone.
- Your list of posts. This fills the post picker when you build an automation.
- Basic details of people who message you. For example their username, and whether they follow you. The follow check is only used for the follow invite.
What Replavia keeps from all this is explained in Does Replavia read or store my DMs?
What Replavia can do
- Send the DMs and public comment replies your automations are set to send.
- Hide, unhide or delete a comment on your own post, only when you click. It never does this on its own.
- Show the ice breaker questions you save, when someone opens a chat with you.
What Replavia cannot do
- It cannot post, edit or delete your posts, reels or stories.
- It cannot see your followers list or who you follow.
- It cannot message people who have not contacted you first.
- It cannot change your password, name, bio, photo or account settings. It only sets the ice breakers and DM menu you write, if you use them.
How to remove access
You can stop Replavia at any time, in two places.
In Replavia:
- Open Accounts.
- Click Disconnect next to the account, then Yes, disconnect.
Your automations, leads and history are kept, and the account stops working until you reconnect.
In Instagram: open Settings and privacy, then Website permissions, then Apps and websites. Remove Replavia there. This ends our access completely.
