How to set up ice breakers and a DM menu

Open Ice breakers, add up to four tappable questions with the reply for each, and up to five menu links. Click “Save & push to Instagram” and people see them when they open a chat with you.

Ice breakers are tappable questions Instagram shows when someone opens a chat with you, before they type anything. Think “What are your prices?” or “Do you ship to my country?”. When the person taps one, Replavia sends the reply you wrote.
The Main Menu is a set of quick links at the bottom of the DM thread, like your shop, website or booking page.
Both work on your profile itself. So a person who never comments on a post can still start a chat and get an answer, even while you sleep.
Ice breakers and the menu are on every plan, including Free.
Steps
- Open Ice breakers in the menu. If you have more than one Instagram account, pick the account at the top.
- Under Ice Breakers, type a question and the reply to send when it is tapped. Click + Add ice breaker for more, up to four.
- Optional: click + Add a link button under a question to send a button with a link along with the reply.
- Under Main Menu, add a label and a link for each item. Click + Add menu link for more, up to five.
- Check the preview beside the form.
- Click Save & push to Instagram. Changes go live straight away.
- Optional: click Verify on Instagram to see what Instagram has saved right now.

Good to know
- Each Instagram account has its own ice breakers and menu. An agency can give every brand different ones.
- When someone taps an ice breaker, they are saved as a lead in your Lead Inbox.
- Ice breakers pair well with a DM Link. A person who opens your inbox from the link can tap a question and get an answer straight away.
- If an account is disconnected, you can still edit its settings, but you cannot save them to Instagram. Reconnect the account first. Your settings are kept.
