# Should I charge extra when a brand wants to use my content in ads?

> Many creators treat ad usage, ads from their handle and exclusivity as separate from making the post, priced by how long the brand wants them. On Pro and Scale, your media kit lists them as extras the brand picks.

- Topic: Media kit and brand deals
- Plans: Free: limited · Pro: included · Scale: included. Every plan can list usage terms. Brands pick priced extras on Pro and Scale.

## The short answer

That is your decision. Many creators do charge extra, because these rights are not the same job as making the post.

A brand often asks for them after the price is agreed, as if they come free. Putting them on your media kit means the brand sees them before it makes an offer.

## What each one means

| Extra | In plain words |
|---|---|
| **Paid ad usage** | The brand uses your content in its own ads, not just on your page. |
| **Ads from my handle** | The brand runs paid ads with your content, shown from your handle next to its own. People often call this whitelisting. |
| **No competitor work** | You agree not to work with similar brands for a while. That is work you turn down. |

Each one usually matters more the longer it lasts. A month of ad usage is not the same as a year of it.

## List them on your media kit

1. Open **Media kit** in the menu.
2. Go to **Your rates** and set your own prices for each post type.
3. Under **What else brands ask for**, tick the extras you are happy to sell.
4. Click **Save media kit**.

On your public kit, the brand ticks the extras it wants and picks how long it needs each one. **Paid ad usage** comes in 1 month, 3 months, 6 months or 1 year. **No competitor work** comes in 3 months, 6 months or 1 year. The **Total** goes up as the brand chooses.

The extras and the order form are on Pro and Scale. See [How brands order from your media kit](https://replavia.com/help/brand-orders).

## Not sure what to charge at all?

In the media kit editor, add your audience size. A note called **Not sure what to charge?** then shows a suggested starting range for a reel, a story and a feed post.

- The figures are in US dollars. They come from one published 2026 survey of US and UK brand deals, so other markets often pay less.
- They are a starting point, not a valuation. The prices on your kit are always the ones you type.
- Brands never see the suggestion. It appears only in your editor, on every plan.

## What Replavia does not do

- You do not type a separate price for each extra. Each length adds a standard step on top of your own prices. You cannot change the size of that step on screen today.
- If you want a different price for an extra, leave it unticked. Then agree it with the brand by email.
- Replavia does not sell, check or enforce these rights for you. The deal is between you and the brand.
- No payment passes through Replavia, and it takes no commission.

## On the Free plan

A Free kit has no extras and no order form. You can still write your terms in words in the **Usage rights** box. They show on your public kit under **Working together**.

## Before you sell ads from your handle

**Ads from my handle** is off by default. To turn it on, you must tick **I have read this and I am happy to approve brands in Instagram myself.**

The editor explains why. You approve each brand inside Instagram yourself, and you can take that approval back. It also suggests approving one post at a time, not your whole account.

## Good to know

- The editor reminds you that Instagram requires the paid partnership label on branded content. That includes deals paid in product.
